As the CEO of Empower Simcoe and a part-time professor at Georgian College, Dr. Cousins combines over 25 years of leadership experience across diverse sectors. From shaping policies in the Ontario Public Service to driving innovation in banking, she’s made her mark with a focus on operations, governance, and EDI.

Her educational path is equally impressive, with degrees ranging from a Bachelor’s in Business Management to a Doctorate in Health Sciences, where her research delves into vicarious trauma and enhancing employee wellbeing. Her commitment hasn’t gone unnoticed; she’s been honored with accolades such as the Barrie Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year and the RBC Women of Influence Social Change Award.
