Resilience is often understood as something individuals are expected to build on their own. However, lived experience shows that resilience is not only personal — it is shaped by the environments we work in, the systems we navigate, and the support we receive.
This session offers a reflective and practical exploration of resilience through lived experience. Drawing on personal insights and professional perspective, it will examine how individuals navigate complex health challenges while managing work, identity, and wellbeing.
Participants will be invited to reflect on their own experiences and gain practical approaches to coping that move beyond “pushing through,” toward more compassionate, realistic, and sustainable ways of supporting wellbeing.
Objectives:
- Understand how resilience is shaped by lived experience and not only individual effort
- Recognize the role of systems, environments, and supports in shaping wellbeing
- Explore practical, accessible strategies to support resilience in daily life
- Reflect on how individuals and workplaces can better support wellbeing
