Our Care to Speak peer support service is seeking BC residents with experience working in healthcare or social services to provide peer support to others working in the field. 

Volunteering as a peer supporter is a rewarding experience. You’ll learn new, useful skills and support others in need.

Interested applicants should be experienced, empathetic, non-judgmental, open-minded, open to feedback, respect the confidentiality of others, and can commit to volunteering one day per week for a 1-year term.

  • Volunteers must be able to work one shift per week during operating hours – Monday to Friday from 9 am to 9 pm.
  • Volunteers have access to their own computer and stable internet connection.

CMHA Vernon provides online training and ongoing support to volunteers. Applicants must be provide two references and be willing to complete a required criminal record check.
