Psychologically healthy and safe workplaces play an integral role in maintaining the psychological health of workers. Amenda has worked in the mental health field for over ten years, working for both government and private organizations. She joined WorkSafeBC in 2014, and since then, she has worn several hats, including working as a Case Manager in Claims, Investigations Officer in Fatal and Series Injury Investigations, and currently as an Occupational Health and Safety Consultant for Mental Health Injury Prevention in Consultation and Education Services. Outside of WorkSafeBC, Amenda is involved in promoting mental health in her role as a therapist at a Vancouver clinic specializing in support for adults struggling with anxiety and other mental health challenges. Amenda has her Master of Social Work from UBC and is currently a BC College of Social Workers member. She also works closely with the BC First Responders’ Mental Health Committee in supporting first responders’ mental health.
